Characteristics: Kinnikinnick is an evergreen mat forming woody groundcover. Plants produce white bell-shaped flowers in spring and red berries in fall. The flowers attract bees in spring and the berries birds in fall. Leaves are an attractive glossy green color.
Cultivation: Kinnikinnick prefers full sun to part shade. Plants are drought tolerant once established. This is an adaptable species that can tolerate a wide range of soils.
Native Range: Western and Northern tier states
