Characteristics: Tufted Hair Grass is a densely tufted perennial bunch grass. It is a cool season grass which is often grown as an ornamental. Typically it forms a low dense tussock (to 16 inches) of very thin arching dark green grass blades. Numerous flower stems rise to 3 feet bearing airy panicles.
Cultivation: Tufted Hair Grass is easy to grow in average to moist, well-drained soils in part to full sun.
Native Range: Northern Hemisphere
Landscape Uses: An excellent ornamental grass for partly shaded areas.
