Characteristics: Plants form dense clumps giving a bushy appearance. Stems are 1 to 3 feet tall and topped by pearly white blooms in early to mid summer. This species is stoloniferous, that is it spreads by stolons, stems that grow at the surface or just underground and form roots at nodes, and therefore can be somewhat invasive in the garden in favorable locations. Flowers are prized for drying and in dried flower arrangements.
Cultivation: This member of the sunflower family is very adaptable and easy to grow. This species will grow in full sun to part shade and tolerates a variety of soil types.
