Characteristics: Golden Columbine features large golden yellow flowers (three inches in diameter), petals with long nectar filled spurs. This species blooms in late spring to early summer in the Inland Northwest garden. Flowers attract bees, butterflies as well as hummingbirds. Plants grow to three feet in height including flower stems. Columbines are relatively deer resistant.
Cultivation: Columbines do well in full sun to part shade or dappled sunlight with moderate moisture.
