Characteristics: Fireweed, formerly known as Epilobium angustifolium is a perennial that features spectacular spikes of pink to purple flowers. Plants grow to four feet tall. This is one of the last wildflowers to bloom in late spring and early summer. It can be an aggressive spreader so may not be a good choice for a small space. Bees, Butterflies and hummingbirds love this species.
Cultivation: Plant in full sun or part shade in areas that are moderately moist in our region.
