Characteristics: Aspen Sunflower, also known as Little Sunflower or Five Nerve Helianthella, is a perennial member of the daisy family with large 3 to 4 inch bright yellow flowers. The name Five Nerve Helianthella originates from the five main veins in the plant's leaves. Aspen Sunflower grows to a height to 3 feet. Blooms attract both bees and butterflies. The seeds may provide food for songbirds if not deadheaded.
Cultivation: Aspen Sunflower prefers full sun and moderate moisture though we find it requires little supplemental watering here in the Inland Northwest..
