Characteristics: Bee Balm, also known as Wild Bergamot, is a fragrant and showy member of the mint family. Fistulosa means tubular and refers to the flowers. Each inflorescence contains multiple tubular pink, white to lavendar colored blooms. Plants are rhizomatous though not aggressively so. It will form clumps. Leaves may be brewed for tea. It was widely used by Native Americans as a medicinal plant.
Cultivation: Bee Balm prefers full sun to part shade and moderately moist to dry soil.
