Characteristics:  Missouri Evening Primrose is a perennial with striking large yellow flowers up to 5 inches across.  Flowers open in the evening and fade the following day.  This species is a nice perennial for the garden due to its relatively long bloom period.  Stems on plants may be upright or trailing, though the plants from the seed source we have been using seem to produce trailing stems.   Plants may grow to a foot in height with somewhat greater spread.

Cultivation:  Missouri Evening Primrose prefers to grow in full sun in well drained soils with low to moderate moisture.

Native Range:  Southern plains states.
