Characteristics: Barrett's Penstemon is a perennial member of the Snapdragon family featuring spikes of magenta to purple flowers. Plants grow to a height of 2 feet. This species is found in the Columbia River Gorge growing on well drained soils or rocky cliffs or talus slopes.
Cultivation: Barrett's Penstemon adapts well to garden setting if provided with good drainage. Grow in full sun with low to moderate moisture.
