Characteristics: Shrubby Penstemon is a perennial member of the snapdragon family featuring clusters of blue to purple tubular flowers. Plants form a loose mat from a woody base Shrubby Penstemon generally blooms in late May or in June here in the Inland Northwest at lower elevations.
Cultivation: Shrubby Penstemon will do best in full sun with a well drained soil. Plants are quite drought tolerant once established.
