Characteristics:  Lovely Penstemon is a perennial member of the snapdragon family producing abundant spikes of lavender to purple flowers in late spring or early summer.  The latin name for the species "venustus" means beautiful or graceful and this species is certainly that!  One of our favorites!  Plants grow to a height of two to three feet.   

Cultivation:  Lovely Penstemon grows in full sun and prefers a well drained soil.
